Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director as well as actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the first impeachment proceeding in America during the Over a Century. She was the star of two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford currently splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
