Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti] Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. At her first international competition in 1972, she came out on top having won three golds. When she competed for the first time as a senior, in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals and one silver. The year was 1976 when she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment as a teenager. When she was a child she started her career as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating shows.
